God couldn't be everywhere so He made Mothers!!

"To understand a mother's love, bear your own children". It was just a quote until she did bear a child of her own. That is really when she began to fathom the significance of being a Mom. The incredible bliss and contentment it brought, the unquestionable effort and responsibility it meant and the incomparable meaning it added to one's existence.

Her Mom is one of the strongest women she's come across in her entire life. Like they say 'Still waters run deep'. There is so much to her mom she's never paused to concede. Her mom is the most selfless human beings she's known on the face of the earth. She is somebody that gave up her career ambitions to cater to her children's needs. Her mom tries to make everybody happy as best and as often as she could, even if it cost her dearly. She is one of the most naive, simple and unpretentious women that ever existed. Her mom had lived for 30+ years of her life having her kids as the epicenter of her existence and still continues to do so. She is somebody that always looks for the good in people.

Growing up, her Mom had said a few things to her that she may or may not have agreed to but carries in her heart to this day- things that were different from the conventional teachings of a Mom. Here is the top 5 list:
  1. Never say Never. Classic example- She had always made fun of people that got married to NRIs in 2 weeks and moved to the US. And she never wanted to go to the US. As fate would have it she did get married to an NRI and move to the US.
  2. Success, wealth etc are all transient. Good-will is the only constant. The biggest treasure a person can have is people that care - friends, relatives and family.
  3. Dependence in moderation is good, independence is better but inter-dependence is the best
  4. What you have in abundance when you are young, you crave for as you get older. This was the truest thing she'd heard. She had people and stability in abundance; both of which she craved for in the US.
  5. Give to the world the best you have and the best will come back to you - a thought she lived and breathed every moment of her life
And a ton of things that she couldn't articulate half as well as her Mom would have.
Here's to the best MOM in the whole wide world.

P.S: I owe everything I am and will ever be to the most formidable and consistent force in my life - My MOM. Your upbringing is infallible, Mom. And here's a song just for you. Happy Mother's day!
